We are at a most exciting precipice! On the crest of a new dawn, we are awakening to the realization that we are connected to others in a way we could never before comprehend. We are discovering the truth that we are all a part of something much larger.
There is not only hope at this pivotal point in history, there is promise. We are remembering our true nature, awakening at a rate faster than ever before in the history of humanity. That awakening has brought about a rate of change that is dizzying, a testimony to our ever-accelerating evolution. Like an athlete straining to run a faster mile, we are being stretched (and many would say stressed) to our maximum capacity.
Many fear this as the beginning of the end. Doomsday prophets and pessimists look to the demise of old institutions that are no longer functional as proof that the world is coming to an end. It is true that the process is often not pretty and much of the time appears quite chaotic. However, positive change is happening as we become global in our consciousness. Our younger generation is much less nationalistic than their parents. Connected through the world-wide Web, the boundaries that once made those abroad seem alien no longer exist for them. We are hurtling forward at light speed toward the realization that “I am you, you are me, we are one.”
As we awaken to our interconnectedness, we realize the responsibility we have to do our part in creating a better world. As each person begins to understand that their life truly matters, it becomes easier to take the steps that birth a truly positive force in the world. For eons we have called that force: Love.
Hasn’t loving action been the message that has been preached and encouraged in our temples, synagogues, mosques and churches around the world for thousands of years. Wasn’t that the message of the Christ and every other avatar around which major religions have been formed? They have told us that not only is it possible, but indeed it is our highest purpose for living.
Love is an experience we all seek. We all want to be loved. Love allows a connection that feeds our heart and our soul. We seek it in partners, friends, and adoring audiences. We can see it emanating from a newborn. We seek it because our truest nature is love.
Live love.
